<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep a printing position on a sheet nearly constant, even when the conveying direction of registration rollers is inclined to the sheet width direction with respect to the conveying direction of an image forming section. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes a sheet conveying mechanism of conveying the sheet (sheet of paper P) from a sheet tray to the image forming section. The sheet conveying mechanism includes: a pickup roller 23 for feeding out the sheet from the sheet tray; a pair of conveying rollers (paper powder removing rollers 26) provided on the downstream side of the pickup roller 23 in the conveying direction; and the pair of registration rollers 27 for adjusting the leading end position of the sheet conveyed from the conveying rollers and feeding the sheet to the image forming section. One roller (pinch roller 26A) of the pair of conveying rollers is provided swingably along the surface of the sheet.
