<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an organic EL element increased in brightness thereof by improving reflection characteristics of a metal reflection film, suppressed in deterioration of light emission intensity due to peeling of the metal reflection film from a luminous layer or the like by suppressing deterioration of the metal reflection film due to heat and light during light emission thereof, and improved in durability. <P>SOLUTION: An organic electroluminescent element 100 includes a base material 101, a metal reflection film 102, a transparent increased reflection film 103, a transparent conductive layer 104, a luminous layer 105 and a transparent electrode layer 106, in this order. The metal reflection film 102 contains a metal nanoparticle sintered body and an additive.
