<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a square battery having a wound body in which the central portion of winding of a foil exposed part can be expanded easily without folding or damaging the metal foil of an electrode sheet. <P>SOLUTION: A square battery 1 has a wound body 6 formed by winding electrode sheets 11, 12 around a shaft core 14, and the wound body 6 has expansion members 15, 16 for expanding the central portion of winding of metal foil laminates 11c, 12c which are wound and laminated at the ends of the winding axis direction. The expansion members 15, 16 consist of a pair of metal thin plates which can deform from a superimposing closed state where the proximal end is fixed to the shaft core 14 to an open state where the distal end is open. At the distal ends of the pair of metal thin plates, open ends 15A, 16A projecting from the end faces of the wound body 6 in the closed state and opening outward in the winding axis direction are provided. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
