<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a play list which records information allowing for correct display of a 3D content edited in 2D also in 3D, and its recording and reproducing device/method/medium and reproducing device/method, for example, to record and reproduce a state of whether editing in 2D was reflected in 3D in the play list. <P>SOLUTION: A recording method for recording information in a recording medium includes the steps of recording an AV stream and recording a play list defining a reproduction order of the AV stream. The play list includes user interface application information. The user interface application information includes management information of a 2D compatible part of a 3D content and a 3D synchronization flag indicating a synchronous state of management information of a 3D part. When the management information of the 2D compatible part is updated, the 3D synchronization flag is set to an asynchronous state.
