<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bearing unit for an X-ray tube in which the axial load can securely be borne without reducing a bearing life under circumstances where the axial load excessively acts on a rotary shaft. <P>SOLUTION: The bearing unit 10 for the X-ray tube includes: a first rolling bearing 11 supporting one end side of the rotary shaft 5 to which a target 3 is fixed; a second rolling bearing 12 supporting another end side of the rotary shaft 5; and spacers 13 to 15 disposed between the first rolling bearing 11 and the second rolling bearing 12.
