<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tapered roller bearing capable of surely preventing metal contact between a tapered roller 5 and an inner ring raceway surface 4 and between the tapered roller 5 and an outer ring raceway surface 3 in conveyance and in transport, and easily performing, without trouble, the removal work of a member for preventing metal contact between the tapered roller 5 and the inner ring raceway surface 4 and between the tapered roller 5 and the outer ring raceway surface 3 after transport even in the tapered roller bearing using a segment type cage 6. <P>SOLUTION: Elastic string materials 11a-11h are circumferentially arranged between respective raceway surfaces 4, 3 of inner rings 2A, 2B and outer rings 3, and tapered rollers 5.
