<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alkaline fuel cell that effectively prevents accumulation of anions derived from CO<SB POS="POST">2</SB>on an anode electrode, without causing blockage in pores in electrodes, and thus has favorable power generation efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: An alkaline fuel cell comprises: a membrane electrode assembly that includes an anode electrode 103, an anion conductive electrolyte membrane 101, and a cathode electrode 102; a first separator 105 that is laminated on the anode electrode 103 and has at least a fuel receiving section 107 for receiving a fuel; a second separator 104 that is laminated on the cathode electrode 102 and has at least an oxidant receiving section 106 for receiving an oxidant; and alkaline aqueous solution supply sections 120 and 121 that bring an alkaline aqueous solution into contact with only the anion conductive electrolyte membrane 101 of the membrane electrode assembly. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
