<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To switch a terminal of a storage device included in a printing material cartridge to an appropriate electric state in accordance with the content of the processing of a printing device. <P>SOLUTION: The printing device includes: a cartridge mounting part to which the printing material cartridge having the storage device and a first cartridge side terminal connected to the storage device is mounted; a first device side terminal which is connected to the first cartridge side terminal when the printing material cartridge is mounted to the cartridge mounting part; an exchange detection part which detects whether or not the printing material cartridge is exchanged; and a controller. The controller sets the first device side terminal to fixed potential when the printing material cartridge is exchanged, and sets the first device side terminal to a high impedance state when the printing material cartridge is not exchanged and when access to the storage device is not performed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
