<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a uniform toner stirring sequence may involve stirring when unnecessary and therefore productivity may be decreased because of time required for the unnecessary toner stirring sequence. <P>SOLUTION: Toner images are formed near both ends in a main scanning direction of an intermediate transfer body before performing a toner stirring sequence, and a density difference between the toner images is calculated to determine whether or not to perform the toner stirring sequence from the calculated density difference. Accordingly, downtime that is generated through the toner stirring sequence performed for uniform and fixed duration is suppressed, and thereby a decrease in productivity brought about by a decrease in through-put is suppressed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
