<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high damping composition that is excellent in productivity, processability when a high damping member is formed, and the like and besides forms a high damping member exhibiting more excellent damping performance than the present members. <P>SOLUTION: The high damping composition comprises at least a base polymer and, incorporated therewith, wet process silica having its moisture percentage adjusted to 6 mass% or lower. The moisture percentage is preferably 3 mass% or lower.
