<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a titanium ingot capable of removing HDI (High Density Inclusion) from titanium alloy, reducing persistence of LDI (Low Density Inclusion) with a particle diameter of up to about 10-15 mm to 1% or less, and obtaining the titanium ingot with high quality and high reliability at low cost. <P>SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing the titanium ingot 30 includes: a step of melting the titanium alloy for a predetermined time by CCIM; and a subsequent step of supplying molten titanium 6 to a cold hearth 10 and separate the HDI 8 by sedimentation in the cold hearth 10 while spraying a plasma jet onto a bath surface of the molten titanium 6. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
