<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve timing control device for an internal combustion engine, capable of timely detecting the relative rotation angle of a vane rotor with respect to a housing. <P>SOLUTION: The valve timing control device includes: a phase changing mechanism for relatively rotating a vane rotor 7 with respect to a housing 5 to change a rotation phase; a coil spring 50 energizing the vane rotor in an advancing angle direction or a retarding angle direction with respect to the housing; a supporting member 51 supporting the end 50b of the coil spring and strain-deformable in accordance with energizing force of the coil spring; and a strain sensor 52 detecting strain of the supporting member and wirelessly transmitting the detection signal of the strain to a control unit. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
