An apparatus for reducing friction in a scroll compressor is provided to prevent dry friction between a bearing member and a drive shaft by sufficient supply of oil remaining in a boss receiving groove at all times, thereby ensuring a reliable operation of the compressor. An apparatus for reducing friction in a scroll compressor comprises an orbital scroll(105), a stationary scroll(106), and a main frame(102). The orbital scroll is powered by a driving motor for orbital movement. The stationary scroll meshes with the orbital scroll to define a pair of compression chambers(P). The main frame comprises a penetrating shaft hole(102b) fitted by a drive shaft of the driving motor to support the drive shaft in a radial direction, and at least one oil receiving groove(200) contoured on one side of a boss receiving groove(102a) fitted by a boss of the orbital scroll to store oil at all times. |
