摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve acceleration response when a driver requests reacceleration without unnecessary engine start, in a hybrid vehicle configured to perform regenerative control by means of a motor, while the engine is disengaged from a drive shaft by means of a clutch, during deceleration. <P>SOLUTION: In a control device for a hybrid vehicle, an engine is started upon a brake releasing operation, when a vehicle speed during vehicle deceleration is higher than a predetermined vehicle speed threshold; the engine is started upon an accelerator operation, when the vehicle speed during vehicle deceleration is lower than the predetermined vehicle speed threshold; the engine is started upon the brake releasing operation, when a remaining battery capacity of a secondary battery during vehicle deceleration is lower than a predetermined remaining battery capacity threshold; and the engine is started upon the accelerator operation, when the remaining battery capacity of the secondary battery during vehicle deceleration is higher than the predetermined remaining battery capacity threshold.
