<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve acceleration response when a driver requests reacceleration without unnecessary engine start, in a hybrid vehicle configured to perform regenerative control by means of a motor, while the engine is disengaged from a drive shaft by means of a clutch, during deceleration. <P>SOLUTION: In a control device for a hybrid vehicle, an engine is started upon a brake releasing operation, when a vehicle speed during vehicle deceleration is higher than a predetermined vehicle speed threshold; the engine is started upon an accelerator operation, when the vehicle speed during vehicle deceleration is lower than the predetermined vehicle speed threshold; the engine is started upon the brake releasing operation, when a remaining battery capacity of a secondary battery during vehicle deceleration is lower than a predetermined remaining battery capacity threshold; and the engine is started upon the accelerator operation, when the remaining battery capacity of the secondary battery during vehicle deceleration is higher than the predetermined remaining battery capacity threshold. The control device for a hybrid vehicle is provided with a starter for crank starting the engine, and a method of driving the starter is changed accordingly. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
