<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a 'multifunctional information terminal and a method for operating the same' for enabling a user to select various operations to one icon by connecting a plurality of actions concerning a function of a terminal to a single icon. <P>SOLUTION: In a multifunctional information terminal 100, a user creates an icon concerning arbitrary information on a display by context of its specific function. Upon receiving an operation to the created icon by the user, a plurality of actions to the context of the icon are extracted, and alternatives of the actions are displayed on the display.
