SHEET STACKING DEVICE, DOCUMENT FEEDER, IMAGE READER, AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet stacking device capable of more reducing collision noise between a sheet slid along a sheet stacking surface and an end wall than heretofore and to provide a document feeder, an image reader, and an image forming apparatus.

SOLUTION: A document discharge tray 23 for stacking a document discharged from a pair of discharge rollers 216 includes a document stacking part 30 having the document stacking surface 31 inclined so as to slide the discharged document in a direction opposite to the discharge direction E of the document and the end wall 35 provided on the front end side of the document stacking part 30 in the direction where the document is slid. The document discharge tray 23 is configured so that the document is slid on the document stacking surface 31 in such an attitude that the document may be inclined relative to the direction where the end wall 35 is extended and may come into contact with the end wall 35 from one corner part of the top end of the document.
