<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To more improve wear resistance of a sliding surface in a marine piston ring. <P>SOLUTION: A marine piston ring 10 includes a piston ring body 12 formed from metal material, and a CrN coating layer 14 which is coated with ion plating and formed from CrN on a sliding surface 13 of the piston ring body 12. The CrN coating layer 14 is formed with thickness equal to or more than 70 μm and a peak strength of a CrN (200) surface under X-ray diffraction is higher than a peak strength of a CrN (111) surface. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
