<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the number of pressure-relief valves in a water heater so as to reduce manufacturing cost. <P>SOLUTION: The water heater 10 includes a hot water tank 32, a water supply pipe 34 for feeding water to the hot water tank 32, a heating means for heating the water in the hot water tank 32, a hot water pipe 36 for discharging hot water from the hot water tank 32, a single pressure-relief valve 38 whose upstream side is connected to both the upper portion 32a and the lower portion 32b of the hot water tank 32, and which is opened when a pressure in the hot water tank 32 becomes equal to or more than a predetermined pressure level, and a hot water shutoff valve 42 which is provided on a pipe line 40 for connecting the upper portion 32a of the hot water tank 32 and the pressure-relief valve 38 and which prohibits flow of hot water whose temperature is equal to or higher than a predetermined temperature. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
