<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for avoiding or suppressing noise and vibration of a stator, mounted on a radial gap type rotary electric machine supported only at an end on one side of a shaft, without greatly increasing the manufacturing cost. <P>SOLUTION: A core 80 of a stator 8 mounted on an inner rotor type rotary electric machine has a second periphery F2 which defines an innermost periphery as an innermost periphery in a radial direction R, and a third periphery F3 which defines an outermost periphery as an outermost periphery in the radial direction R. The thickness of the core 80 in the radial direction R between the second periphery F2 and the third periphery F3 outside in the radial direction R is smaller on the opposite side from the side of a bearing 1 than on the side of the bearing 1.
