<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device capable of suppressing conveyance failure by fixing the conveyance speed of a transfer material in a nip part, and an image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: A fixing device which fixes an unfixed image on a transfer material at a nip part comprises: a belt member rotatably stretched by a plurality of rollers including at least a fixing roller; driving means for rotationally driving the fixing roller; drive control means for controlling the driving means; heating means for heating the belt member; and a pressure roller which forms the nip part between itself and the belt member by press-contacting with the belt member at a position facing the fixing roller via the belt member. The fixing device includes belt surface moving speed detection means which detects the surface moving speed of the belt member. The drive control means makes the fixing roller rotate by controlling the driving means in such a manner that the surface moving speed of the belt member is at a preset predetermined speed on the basis of a detection result of the belt surface moving speed detection means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
