<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a windmill power unit which enables a windmill to become widespread by greatly expanding a range of utilization to an intended purpose except electric power generation by solving the problems of noises and an expensive braking mechanism, hindering the widespread use of the windmill as inexpensive power, by a safe and inexpensive braking mechanism provided in a vertical axis windmill rotating at a relatively low speed. <P>SOLUTION: The windmill power unit includes: a conductive circular member which is made of a non-magnetic material and provided for a rotating shaft of the windmill; a slit-like magnetic path which is formed of a permanent magnet and a yoke member; and a movement mechanism which moves between relative positions of the circular member and the yoke unit. In the windmill power unit, the slit-like magnetic path formed of the yoke unit can move from a position to pass in the thickness direction of the circular member to a position to not pass. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
