NONAQUEOUS ELECTROLYTE SECONDARY BATTERY AND MANUFACTURING METHOD OF THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery capable of suppressing expansion and resistance increase and improving a capacity maintaining rate.

SOLUTION: The nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery comprises: a positive electrode; a negative electrode containing a negative electrode active material layer; and a nonaqueous electrolyte. The negative electrode active material layer and the nonaqueous electrolyte contain carbon dioxide. A quantity of carbon dioxide discharged when the negative electrode active material layer is heated at 400°C for one minute is 0.01 ml or more and 3 ml or less per unit weight of the negative electrode active material layer. A quantity of carbon dioxide contained in the nonaqueous electrolyte is 50 ml/L or more and 1000 ml/L or less per unit volume of the nonaqueous electrolyte.
