<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology capable of accurately detecting a short circuit generated in a printing material cartridge. <P>SOLUTION: The printing material cartridge having a first terminal, a second terminal, a third terminal and an electrical device connected to the first terminal and the second terminal can be mounted in the printing device. When the printing material cartridge is mounted to a cartridge mounting part, the printing device selectively applies an electrical signal to the first terminal and the second terminal, and detects, on the basis of a signal output from the third terminal, whether or not the short circuit is generated in the printing material cartridge. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
