ENDOSCOPIC APPARATUS AND LIGHT SOURCE CONTROL METHOD FOR THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscopic apparatus in which color unevenness of a picked-up image can be reduced without impairing the degree of freedom in selecting a material of a phosphor.

SOLUTION: The endoscopic apparatus includes: a light source LD2 for emitting light to be supplied to a distal end 33 of an endoscope 11; an optical fiber 55 for guiding the light emitted from the light source LD2 to the distal end 33 of the endoscope 11; a phosphor 59 provided on the light emitting end of the optical fiber 55; a light source control section 49 for pulse-driving the light source LD2; and a light sensor 72 for sensing the fluorescence emitted from the phosphor 59. The light source control section 49 controls the amplitude of pulse to be supplied to the light source LD2 on the basis of the strength of the fluorescence detected by the light sensor 72.
