<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric connector for a cable and an electric connector assembly capable of avoiding enlargement of the connector, careless coming off of a terminal from the housing of the connector, and careless coming off of the connector from a mating connector thereof. <P>SOLUTION: A connector 1 comprises: a terminal 20 which has a connected wire portion at a front end of a cable C; and a housing 10 which has a terminal hole 11, opened at a rear portion thereof, where the terminal 20 is inserted. The housing 10 has a lance 14, arranged at part of a lower wall 13 thereof, which is elastically displaceable in a vertical direction. The terminal 20 is inserted into the terminal hole 11 with play in a front-back direction, and has a projecting piece 22 which is extended downward at a position in front of the lance 14. The projecting piece 22 has a latching portion capable of being latched to the lance 14 in a backward direction. The lance 14 has a locking portion 14B capable of being latched with a locked portion 32A of a housing 30 of a mating connector 2 in a backward direction when the lance 14 enters the locked portion 32A in a state where the connector 1 and the mating connector 2 fit each other. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
