<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling system which uses an engine for cooling an inverter unit when driven by a motor, and a hybrid vehicle having the cooling system. <P>SOLUTION: The hybrid vehicle includes an engine, at least one motor, and an inverter unit which supplies power to the motor. This hybrid vehicle also includes an air cooling system which supplies cooling air to the inverter unit. In the cooling system, a cooling air passage for supplying cooling air to the inverter unit branches from an air intake passage leading to the engine. According to the cooling system, the motor idles the engine when the temperature of the inverter unit becomes higher during engine stop or when a locked state of a different motor is detected during engine stop. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
