<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the amusingness of a game in a game machine by preventing a process to a jackpot from becoming monotonous, the game machine being provided with a variation display device for displaying a variation display game to variably display identification symbols and generating a special game state advantageous for a player in relation to the result of the variation display game. <P>SOLUTION: The game machine includes: a variation mode selection means (game control device 100) which selects, as a variation mode of identification symbols, one variation mode from a plurality of variation modes including a first variation mode and a second variation mode differed from the first variation mode; and a second variation mode determination means (game control device 100) which determines that the second variation mode is selected by the variation mode selection means, and counts the determination frequency.
