<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a face image detector for suppressing flicker of light projected toward a crew member's face and thus preventing reflection of surrounding landscape off glasses of a driver. <P>SOLUTION: The face image detector includes: a light projector for projecting light toward an area including a crew member's face of a car; an imaging control unit for setting an imaging condition when imaging a predetermined area including the crew member's face; an imaging part for imaging the predetermined area including the crew member's face on the basis of the imaging condition set by the imaging control unit; an ambient light detection part for detecting ambient light radiated to the car or the crew member; an operation mode determination part for determining on either of at least two modes, an operation mode when light quantity of the detected ambient light is over a predetermined light quantity threshold and an operation mode when the light quantity is below the light quantity threshold; a light emission pattern setting part for setting a light emission pattern of a light source of the projector on the basis of the operation mode; and a light projector control unit for controlling the light projector so that light is emitted by the light source on the basis of the light emission pattern. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
