<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid ejecting apparatus that can improve accuracy in determining whether at least part of a supported portion of a target, which is supported by a supporting means and faces a movable area of a moving body, is separated from the supporting means. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid ejecting apparatus includes: a recording head 51; a supporting base 40 for supporting rolled paper 13; a carriage 52 movable within the movable area 54; a photoelectric sensor 70 disposed so that a conveyance path is positioned between the supporting base 40 and the photoelectric sensor in a vertical direction and having a light-emitting portion 72 and a light-receiving portion 73; and a control device for determining whether at least part of a supported portion 13b of the rolled paper 13 is separated from the supporting base 40 on the basis of the light-receiving quantity at the light-receiving portion 73. The light-emitting portion 72 is disposed in a first position P1 set outside the movable area 54 or a second position P2 set in the carriage 52, and the light-emitting portion 72 disposed in one of the first and second positions P1, P2 emits light toward the other of the first and second positions P1, P2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
