<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an airbag that can control a gas flow by forming a tether while controlling the thickness. <P>SOLUTION: In the airbag, which has a tether 2 for controlling the thickness, the tether 2 includes a cleaving part 4 that is clefted in a width direction by an internal pressure of not less than a predetermined value, and a part 5 that is not clefted by the internal pressure. Preferably, the cleaving part 4 is constituted of a slit.
