<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a reproduction elastic roller, from which an external additive adhering to the surface thereof is effectively removed, that contributes to a fair image formation. <P>SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a reproduction elastic roller comprises two steps. In the first step, porous resin particles to be charged with the regular charge polarity opposite to that of an external additive by the friction between an elastic roller and a pressing component are provided to the nip part between the elastic roller to the surface of which the external additive adheres and the pressing member disposed facing the elastic roller. In the nip part, the friction between the elastic roller surface and the resin particles charges the resin particles with the regular charge polarity opposite to that of the external additive, and then the external additive is taken in to pores of the resin particles. In the second step, an electric potential difference that makes the surface potential of a removal member to that of the elastic roller opposite to the regular charge polarity of the external additive is applied across the surface of the removal member disposed facing the roller and the surface of the roller, so that the resin particles having taken in the external additive is transferred from the surface of the roller to that of the removal member. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
