<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly analyze the content of sulfur components in a metal sample with high accuracy. <P>SOLUTION: An analyzer 1 comprises: a high-frequency induction heating furnace 3 which burns a metal sample 5 containing sulfur components in a pure oxygen gas atmosphere by high frequency induction heating to oxidize the sulfur components to sulfur dioxide; an ultraviolet fluorescence analyzer 7 which radiates ultraviolet light to analysis gas, which contains the sulfur dioxide generated by the burning of the metal sample 5, in a fluorescence cell and measures the intensity of fluorescence generated by the ultraviolet irradiation; a pressure gauge 6 which measures the pressure of the analysis gas in the fluorescence cell or in an inlet pipe of the fluorescence cell; and a computer 8 which corrects the intensity of the fluorescence measured by the ultraviolet fluorescence analyzer 7 on the basis of the pressure of the analysis gas measured by the pressure gauge 6 so as to remove the influence of pressure fluctuation of the analysis gas, and calculates the content of the sulfur components in the metal sample 5 on the basis of the corrected intensity of the fluorescence. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
