A combined mixing and heating unit for immersing in chemical processing vessels consists of a panel which divides the vessel into a processing volume and a service space in which is fitted an impeller to circulate liquid through the panel and a thermostatically controlled, direct heater. The unit may also carry a thermostatically controlled refrigerating coil.
