Multi-axial fiber fabric with a defined longitudinal direction, comprises at least two superimposed fiber layers, each of which is formed by strip-shaped fiber sheets, in which the fibers of each fiber sheet, extend parallel to the direction of its fiber sheet, and differs from the longitudinal direction of the fiber fabric. The fiber sheets with at least one first fiber layer (1) lying in crossing arrangement on fiber sheets of a second fiber layer (2), engages on the side of the selected crossing areas in the fiber sheets of the second fiber layer. Independent claims are also included for: (1) producing the above multi-axial fiber fabric; (2) a multi-axial machine with a portal (20) structure for producing the multi-axial fiber fabric, with differences in the direction of the fiber of individual fiber layers; (3) a device for producing the unidirectional fiber layer, whose respective segments are cut into length, preferably the multi-axial fiber fabric, by the above method; and (4) a device for producing multi-axial fiber fabric made of superimposed unidirectional fiber layers, with individual segments cut into length.
