The method involves heating a partially synthetic filter medium for providing a plasticized region of the filter medium (S1), and heating a partially synthetic end plate for providing another plasticized region of the synthetic end plate (S2). The partially synthetic filter medium and the partially synthetic end plate are jointed (S3) together at the plasticized areas. The filter medium is designed as a zigzag folded filter. The heating process of the filter medium and the end plate is carried out by infrared rays, hot plates, hot gas or mirror welding. An independent claim is also included for a filter element.
