<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer-clad optical fiber that has a high numerical aperture and also excellent moisture-resistance. <P>SOLUTION: A polymer-clad optical fiber 11 includes an optical transmission path 11a formed of glass and a cladding 11b provided so as to coat it.
