<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing steam barrier film which is highly durable and has an excellent steam barrier ability, a steam barrier film having such excellent performance, and electronic equipment having an excellent steam barrier ability using the steam barrier film. <P>SOLUTION: In the steam barrier film 10 in which a steam barrier layer 4 and a protection layer 5 are piled up on a base material 1, a low-permeability region Rb having a lower permeability than the center side is formed at least on a part of the periphery of the steam barrier film 10.
