The cylinder has a concentric slave cylinder housing (1) with a longitudinal axis (A) and comprising an annular space (2) for formation of an annular pressure chamber (D). A pressure chamber-side of an annular piston (3) is provided with a seal (4). The annular piston works on a clutch release sleeve (5), and a resilient and/or springy element is arranged at the slave cylinder housing toward the clutch release sleeve. The springy element forms tolerance compensation to a stopper (1.1) of the slave cylinder housing for the clutch release sleeve in a rear end position of the annular piston.
