OPTICAL MODULE AND MANUFACTURING METHOD OF OPTICAL MODULE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical module having an optical component adjustment unit free from optical axis misalignment even if there are manufacturing variations.

SOLUTION: An optical module comprises: a substrate; a first adjustment unit and a second adjustment unit provided on the substrate and having the same thickness; a first optical component provided on the first adjustment unit; and a second optical component provided on the second adjustment unit. At least one of the first adjustment unit and the second adjustment unit provides an optical module having a shape which matches an optical axis of the first optical component with an optical axis of the second optical component. The second adjustment unit may hold the optical axes of the first and second optical components at the same level by making the height at the lowest point on the substrate side of the second optical component different from the height at the lowest point on the substrate side of the first optical component.
