The invention relates to a washing machine for the gentle treating laundry with foam from a solution with a drum (2) rotatably mounted in a lye container (1) for the solution, rotatably supported in a lye container (1), a lye drainage system (20) disposed at the base of said lye container (1); a drive motor (14) for said drum (2) and a heating device (13). The washing machine comprises a device (16) for supplying air into the solution and being switched independently of said drum (2), said device (16) being an air compressor pump (17) with an outlet (18) to said lye container (1) for the solution. The invention also relates to a method suitable for being carried out in this washing machine. |
