MODIFIED POLYPEPTIDE WITH DICAMBA MONOOXYGENASE ACTIVITY, A NUCLEIC ACID MOLECULE ENCODING SAME AND METHODS OF ITS USE

The invention provides a nucleic acid molecule encoding a dicamba monooxygenase (DMO), which, by introducing into a plant provides tolerance to the herbicide dicamba. Constructs are proposed comprising said nucleic acid molecule, a polypeptide with a dicamba monooxygenase activity, a cell transformed by a nucleic acid molecule according to the invention, a plant tissue culture comprising such cells, a transgenic plant and a method of producing such plant. The invention provides a method of obtaining products from said transgenic plant, and also a method of controlling weed growth in a crop growing environment tolerant to the herbicide dicamba. The invention widens a range of plants which can grow in using herbicides.
