<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for properly performing user authentication on a processing device. <P>SOLUTION: A control device controls a processing device which executes predetermined processing. The control device comprises: input means which gives a notification for requiring a user who wants to use the processing device to input authentication information for user authentication, and receives the input authentication information according to a user's instruction in response to the notification; permission means which permits the processing device to execute the predetermined processing according to the authentication information input via the input means; and determination means which determines whether a state of the processing device which is about to execute the predetermined processing indicates that power supply to the processing device is re-supplied after power supply to the processing device had been cut off.
