<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic thermal protection circuit that allows promptly responding to fault occurrence on an amplifier circuit side and thereby protecting a motor, in a motor drive device having a switching power-supply circuit such as a class D amplifier. <P>SOLUTION: In an electronic thermal protection device detecting a driving current of a motor driven by a switching power-supply circuit, the electronic thermal protection device determines the presence or absence of abnormality by whether or not the amplitude of a switching ripple current of the switching power-supply circuit is larger than a predetermined ripple threshold. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
