<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a knitting method capable of reinforcing a V-neck branched part of a knitwear and improving its appearance. <P>SOLUTION: The method comprises the steps of: exchanging left side stitches and right side stitches in center stitches across the center of a branched part; forming a sequence of new stitches in wale direction relative to the center stitches at one needle bed while increasing stitches facing the center stitches at another needle bed opposed to the one needle bed; feeding thread to a needle holding the center stitches and the increased stitches to perform tubular knitting; and overlapping the center stitches and the increased stitches opposed thereto to form overlapped stitches, thereby forming a branched part.
