Plastic film (pref. P.E.T.) is produced by extruding the molten plastic onto a rotating roller, immersing the extruded material in a liquid bath while it is applied to the roller, and releasing the extruded material from the roller after the formation of the film, the extruded material following a path in the liquid bath between the contact zone with the roller and the release zone from the roller. Used for producing plastic film for use as a photographic support. The extruded material is cooled very rapidly, thus increasing the prodn. rate. The film is very uniform with excellent optical properties. |
