<p>The purpose of the present invention is to make it possible to select an illumination color in an illumination device having a cold cathode fluorescent lamp as a light source and to save energy by selecting brightness of illumination adapted to the ambient brightness. An illumination device, taking advantage of the thin tubing of cold cathode fluorescent lamps, is equipped with a plurality of cold cathode fluorescent lamps and can be adapted to environmental brightness by selective lighting of these cold cathode fluorescent lamps. Further, by using a plurality of different color cold cathode fluorescent lamps and selectively lighting these lamps, it is possible to selectively light an illumination color suitable for an object to be illuminated and the environment.</p> |
