A transmission brake is provided for breaking the brake disk of a gear element (16). The brake disk has two braking plate elements (26,28) that are arranged adjacent to each other and are interconnected. The transmission brake is formed as a disk brake, and has a brake shoe. The brake disk is movable in an axial direction to the planetary gear.
