BACKLIGHT ASSEMBLY AND DISPLAY DEVICE INCLUDING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backlight assembly capable of improving reliability, reducing production cost and improving quality, and to provide a display device including the same.

SOLUTION: The backlight assembly includes a light emitting part, a light guide plate, and a lower housing unit. The light emitting part emits light. The light guide plate includes a side face where light is incident and an emission surface for guiding light provided through the side face and emitting the same. The lower housing unit houses the light emitting part and the light guide plate and includes a heat sink part for transmitting heat of the light emitting part and a rigid part having high strength as compared with the heat sink part.
