<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that has an elastic roller, an outer periphery surface of which deforms during the non-operation period by components that form the image forming apparatus contacting the elastic roller, and accurately suppresses image failure that occurs because of the deformation of the elastic roller with a simple configuration. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes: detection means for detecting a deformed part 22 of an outer periphery surface of a charging roller 2; and control means capable of performing, in order to stop the rotating charging roller 2, stop control for stopping the charging roller 2 in a state where the deformed part 22 of the outer periphery surface of the charging roller 2 is in contact with a photoreceptor drum 1 using a detection result by the detection means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
