<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the responsiveness and reception quality of a digital receiver when configuring a smart antenna. <P>SOLUTION: A smart antenna configuration estimator for use in the digital TV receiver includes: data input means configured to obtain an estimate of impulse response of a channel of a television signal passed to the receiver; maximum value detection means configured to detect a maximum value of channel impulse response corresponding to a main signal path; averaging means configured to calculate a mean value of channel impulse response comprising channel impulse response values corresponding to one or more additional signal paths; and ratio calculating means configured to calculate a quality value as the ratio of the maximum value to the mean value of channel impulse response. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
